Close dialog. If you have a deployment tool then you can use that of course to install the Teams Installer. You will need to use the MSI file, this will install the Teams Installer in the Program Files folder and it will run automatically for when a user is logging in to the computer.

If you or a user has already installed Teams with the setup. Make Teams a bit more fun with these funny backgrounds for Microsoft Teams. The install is capable of detecting existing installations and avoids reinstalling when you just removed it. The only thing I can come up with is our Software Restriction Policy. We block every. If I know more about this I will update this article accordingly.

Teams is also not running on login either even though the Run key is present. Anyone facing these issues? I am having a similar thing occur in my environment where we also use Software Restriction Policy.

I have tried but with little success. Especially in an environment folder redirection and roaming profiles. Is MS really that stupid when it comes to this? They give us a MSI but it is nerfed. We also are in a mess because we have used the regular EXE installer, the machine-wide MSI installer, the VDI installer manual and SCCM and even the Office Apps install to deploy Teams, sometimes more than one install method on the same machine which can break the automatic updating!

Find threads, tags, and users Hello Teams Community, With the return to work of all staff in our offices we have installed lots of new audiovisual equipment. Is there a way that we could have teams installed for all users and each machine? Comment Show 0. Current Visibility: Visible to all users.

Hi, no Team is installed by user. The Teams Machine-Wide Installer does not update itself, so the installer present on a given machine will generally remain at the version first installed. Since this is just used to initially install Teams, and then the per-user profile instance of Teams will automatically update itself, this is generally not an issue, except in the case of shared computers where new users are logging into them frequently. Even if the Teams Machine-Wide Installer is updated, it will normally not affect the per-user instance of Teams installed into a user's profile.

The next time the user signs into Windows and the TeamsMachineInstaller Run key is executed, with AllowMsiOverride set to 1, it will check if a newer version of Teams is available from the Teams Machine-Wide Installer and install it into the per-user profile instance. Skip to content.

I downloaded the latest version of Teams but am unable to install it. It gave me the following setup log. What should I do next? Applying current release package. NullReferenceException: Object reference not set to an instance of an object. ArgumentException: Cannot delete a subkey tree because the subkey does not exist. Using Current. Falling back to getting version from folder name. Copy was successful. Registration not needed! UnauthorizedAccessException: Access to the path 'ffmpeg.

ThrowForNonSuccess Task task. AggregateException: One or more errors occurred. Also, may I ask if your device meets up with the hardware requirement for Teams? Anything less may not work well for you. If your device meets up, then there is a chance that the Teams folder was not created successfully. If the folder is not there, please create it manually and then run Teams to see the result.

Was this reply helpful? Yes No. Sorry this didn't help. Make sure that you back up the registry before you modify it and that you know how to restore the registry if a problem occurs. For more information about how to back up, restore, and modify the registry, see Windows registry information for advanced users.

You can also use our Teams deployment clean up script to complete steps 1 and 2. The default behavior of the MSI is to install the Teams app as soon as a user signs in and then automatically start Teams. If you don't want Teams to start automatically for users after it's installed, you can use Group Policy to set a policy setting or disable auto launch for the MSI installer. Enable the Prevent Microsoft Teams from starting automatically after installation Group Policy setting.

This is the recommended method because you can turn off or turn on the policy setting according to your organization's needs. When you enable this policy setting before Teams is installed, Teams doesn't start automatically when users log in to Windows. After a user signs in to Teams for the first time, Teams starts automatically the next time the user logs in. To learn more, see Use Group Policy to prevent Teams from starting automatically after installation. If you've already deployed Teams and want to set this policy to disable Teams autostart, first set the Group Policy setting to the value you want, and then run the Teams autostart reset script on a per-user basis.

Teams won't start until the user manually starts Teams. After the user manually starts Teams, Teams automatically starts whenever the user logs in. All users can then uninstall Teams if they have admin credentials on the computer. If you run the MSI manually, be sure to run it with elevated permissions. Even if you run it as an administrator, without running it with elevated permissions, the installer won't be able to configure the option to disable auto start.
